How To Make A Harry Potter Sorting Hat Frosting Board
Step 1: Grind the Butterscotch Chips
Start by grinding your butterscotch chips. You can do this with a food processor or chop them small with a knife.
Then, place them in a bowl for later.
Step 2: Make the Frosting
Next, gather your butter, powdered sugar, cream soda, cookie nip flavoring, heavy whipping cream, and ground butterscotch chips.
Get a large bowl, and place it in the bowl starting with your butter.
Using an electric mixer, mix the butter until it is light and fluffy. This takes about 3 minutes.
Then, gradually add your powdered sugar, cream soda, cookie nip, and heavy whipping cream.
Mix the ingredients with your electric mixer until everything is combined and smooth. This takes about 2 to 3 minutes.
Lastly, fold in about half of the ground butterscotch.
Once the frosting is complete, separate the frosting equally into 4 small bowls.
Step 3: Color the Frosting
Get your green, navy blue, burgundy, and yellow food gel color, and line each color up next to one of the small bowls.
Put 2 drops of food gel color in each bowl and mix the frosting using your spatula and gel color in each bowl one at a time.
You can add more color if needed, but remember to don’t add too much because it can change the taste.
Step 4: Assemble the Board
Make sure your cutting board is clean and dry.
Starting with your green frosting, use your spatula and place the frosting on the top portion of the board.
Be sure to leave a good amount of space on the edges, about a half inch, to add snacks later.
Using your spatula, spread the green icing in a zig-zag pattern to create a cool texture effect.
Repeat this step with each color until all 4 house colors are on the board.
Step 5: Finishing Touches
Now to decorate your board, add the remaining ground butterscotch chips according to your taste level.
Sprinkle your Harry Potter blend sprinkles over each color of frosting on the board.
Place your pretzels and crackers on opposite corners of the board.
Put the cookies along the side, then move your Harry Potter Sorting Hat Frosting Board to a flat surface or table to serve.
Enjoy sorting your houses with snacks. Serve and enjoy!
