How To Make A Fun and Colorful Circus Animal Easter Bunny Sugar Cookies
Step 1: Cookie Dough Preparation
In a large bowl cream together your butter and sugar. Once creamed together, add in your eggs, one at a time while continuing to beat the dough.
While your dough is continuing to mix add in vanilla. Add in your flour a little at a time with breaks occasionally to make sure that everything mixes.
Once your flower is fully incorporated, add in your baking powder and salt.
Step 2: Rest the Dough
Using your hands, form your dough into a large bowl. Wrap plastic wrap around it and refrigerate for at least four hours, if not overnight.
Step 3: Assemble and Bake
When you are ready to bake, preheat your oven to 400°. On a lightly floured flat surface roll your dough out to 1/4 inch thick.
Portion the dough ball into four sections unless you have a large flat surface area to work on.
Use your cookie cutter to cut out shapes and place them on an ungreased cookie sheet.
Cook for about 8 minutes, checking occasionally as ovens vary.
Step 4: Decorate and Serve
Once your cookies have finished baking, allow them to cool for a couple of minutes, then transfer to a cooling rack. Add your candy melts to microwave-safe bowls.
Do not mix the colors; one bowl for pink candy melts, one bowl for white candy melts. Melt your candy melts at 30-second intervals until fully melted.
Spread your candy melt over your cookie. Immediately sprinkle with sprinkles while the chocolate is still wet.
Allow cooling and harden. Serve and enjoy!

How To Store Fun and Colorful Circus Animal Easter Bunny Sugar Cookies
Best Way To Store Easter Bunny Sugar Cookies Leftover
Before storing cookies, make sure they are cool. Keep them at room temperature, and store them in an airtight container, such as a resealable freezer bag, to keep them fresh and soft.
And here's a clever tip: stuff a piece of bread into the bag. This bread method may appear to work because the cookies tend to absorb moisture from the bread to keep it soft and fresh the entire time.
How Long Will Fun and Colorful Circus Animal Easter Bunny Sugar Cookies Last In the Fridge?
Cookies can be kept at room temperature for two to three weeks or in the refrigerator for two months. When cookies are frozen, they keep their quality for eight to twelve months.
Can I Freeze Easter Bunny Sugar Cookies
Cookies can be frozen for up to 3 or 4 weeks after baking. Allow cookies to cool completely after baking.
Freeze them in a single layer on a parchment-lined baking sheet, then put them in a freezer-safe zip-top storage bag with the name and date written on it, for reference purposes.
Easter Bunny Sugar Cookies FAQs
Are sugar cookies the same as chocolate-chip cookies?
No. Sugar cookies have a higher flour content than chocolate-speckled cookies.
White sugar is also used in sugar cookies, whereas both brown and white sugar is used in chocolate chip cookies. The type of sugar added to the dough will determine how chewie the cookie will be, and brown sugar tends to give a chewier texture.
Can I add more flour to the cookie dough?
Yes. Adding more flour to your thin cookie dough is the greatest approach to give it more solidity. The flour will aid in the reduction of moisture in the dough, resulting in a wonderfully textured batter.
Can I add different flavorings in the sugar cookie dough?
Yes. If you are making your own sugar cookie dough, instead of vanilla, try almond, peppermint, or citrus extracts for a unique flavor. For flecks of beautiful color and a nice pop of flavor, finely grated fresh citrus zest can be added.
Is cookies a dessert?
Yes. Desserts include biscuits, cakes, cookies, custards, gelatins, ice creams, pastries, pies, puddings, macaroons, sweet soups, tarts, and fruit salads, among others.
Can I make a healthier cookie?
Yes. Oatmeal cookies are slightly healthier than sugar cookies. Oatmeal cookies are lower in fat, higher in protein, fiber, and calcium than other cookies.
