Easter Jello Shots FAQs

What happens if you put too much vodka in jello shots?

Jello shots should have at least half a cup of vodka. If you put too much, your jello shots won’t set. You’ll end up with a mushy mixture.

How do you get jello shots to not stick?

You can lightly spray your jello molds or jello shot glass with a non-stick spray. This will prevent your jello shots from sticking to the shot glass or molds.

Do you have to use water in jello shots?

In making jello shots, you use a cup of water, a 3-ounce jello mix, and alcohol of your choice. You can also add more water, depending on the desired strength of alcohol you will have in your jello shots.

The more alcohol you pour into your mixture, the lesser the amount of water will be used, and vice versa.

Can you use any alcohol in Jello shots?

Vodka is the most commonly used alcohol for jello shots. However, you may use other brands or types of alcohol.

Vodka is the most neutral, aside from rum, since it doesn’t affect the flavor of your jello. Other spirits, like gin, whiskey, tequila, and brandy can still be used for your jello shots.
