- a few eggs
- vanilla
- salt
- baking powder
Coffee Cake With Streusel Crumb Topping RECIPE INSTRUCTIONS
Preheat your oven to 350 F and line a 9×9 baking dish with parchment paper.
In a small bowl, mix together the ingredients for the streusel topping and set to the side.
In another small bowl mix together the ingredients for the center filling and set to the side.
Next, make the cake batter.
In a large mixing bowl, mix together flour, cornstarch, baking powder, and salt. Set aside for now.
Add to a bowl, the two sugars, and butter.
Using a mixer, cream them together until light and fluffy.
Add to the mixture, vanilla, & eggs and mix until combined.
Then add the sour cream and mix.
Next, add the flour and mix just combined. Do not over mix.
Take half the thick batter and spread it in the parchment paper-lined baking dish.
Sprinkle the cinnamon filling mixture all over.
Then take the rest of the cake batter and spread it on top of the cinnamon filling.
Now take the streusel mixture and sprinkle it on top of the cake.
Bake for 50-55 minutes. In about an hour, you’ll have a tender cake with layers of streusel perfect for eating with a cup of coffee.

- ⅔ cup light brown sugar
- 1 cup All-purpose flour
- 2 tsp ground cinnamon
- ¼ tsp salt
- ½ cup butter
Cinnamon Center filling
- ¾ cup light brown sugar
- ¼ cup All-purpose flour
- 2 tsp cinnamon
Cake
- 2 ¼ cups All-purpose flour
- ¼ cup cornstarch
- 2 ½ tsp baking powdered
- ¾ tsp salt
- ¾ cup butter room temperature
- ½ cup brown sugar
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 3 eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla
- 1 cup sour cream
Instructions
- In a small bowl mix ingredients for the streusel together and set to the side.
- In another small bowl mix ingredients for the center filling and set to the side.
- Now let’s make the cake. In a large mixing bowl mix together flour, cornstarch, baking powdered and salt. Set aside for now.
- With a mixer creaming together butter with both sugars.
- Add vanilla, & eggs and mix.
- Then add the sour cream and mix.
- Now add the flour and mix just until mixed together. Do not over mix.
Assemble The Cake
- Line a 9×9 baking dish with parchment paper. Take half the thick batter and spread in the baking dish.
- Sprinkle the cinnamon filling mixture all over.
- Then take the rest of the cake batter and spread on top of the cinnamon filling.
- Now take the streusel mixture and sprinkle on top of the cake.
