Apple Pie Tequitos
Scrumptious apple pie taquitos are a delightful dessert that combines the warm, gooey apple pie filling with the crispy texture of a taquito. This mouthwatering fusion results in a unique treat that is perfect for satisfying your sweet cravings. Ingredients

Filling

  • 3-4 Apples, Peeled, Cored, and Diced (Gala and Granny Smith)
  • 1/4 Cup Brown Sugar
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon
  • 1 tsp Nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp Allspice
  • 1 tbsp Cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup Tequila Or Water

Tortilla Wrap

  • 8-10 small Tortillas
  • 2 tbsp Melted Butter
  • 1/4 cup Brown Sugar
  • 1/4 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 1/2 tsp Cinnamon

Garnish

  • Caramel Whip Cream Ice Cream

Instructions

Step 1: Prep the Filling

  • In a medium sized frying pan add all of the filling ingredients, and toss to combine.
  • Cook over medium heat and simmer for 10 to 15 minutes.
  • Stir the apple mixture often to evenly coat the apples in a brown sugar sauce.
  • Remove the front heat and set it to the side to cool to room temperature.

Step 2: Prep the Tortilla

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  • In a small bowl add the sugar and cinnamon, and whisk to combine.
  • Wrap the tortillas in a damp paper towel and microwave for 30 seconds.
  • Lay the tortilla’s on a baking sheet and scoop ¼ cup of apple filling into each tortilla.
  • Wrap the tortilla around the apple filling and place it seam down on the baking sheet.
  • Repeat with all tortillas.

Step 3: Time to Bake

  • In a small bowl add your butter and microwave for 30 seconds to melt.
  • Brush each tortilla with the melted butter.
  • Bake the taquitos for 15 minutes.
  • Brush on more melted butter on top of the taquitos.
  • Now sprinkle the cinnamon sugar on top of the taquito.
  • Drizzle the caramel sauce on top of the taquitos.
  • Serve warm, add whip or ice cream, and enjoy.
