Streusel top

  • cup light brown sugar
  • 1 cup All-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ½ cup butter

Cinnamon Center filling

  • ¾ cup light brown sugar
  • ¼ cup All-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp cinnamon


  • 2 ¼ cups All-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup cornstarch
  • 2 ½ tsp baking powdered
  • ¾ tsp salt
  • ¾ cup butter room temperature
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 1 cup sour cream


  • In a small bowl mix ingredients for the streusel together and set to the side.
  • In another small bowl mix ingredients for the center filling and set to the side.
  • Now let’s make the cake. In a large mixing bowl mix together flour, cornstarch, baking powdered and salt. Set aside for now.
  • With a mixer creaming together butter with both sugars.
  • Add vanilla, & eggs and mix.
  • Then add the sour cream and mix.
  • Now add the flour and mix just until mixed together. Do not over mix.

Assemble The Cake

  • Line a 9x9 baking dish with parchment paper. Take half the thick batter and spread in the baking dish.
  • Sprinkle the cinnamon filling mixture all over.
  • Then take the rest of the cake batter and spread on top of the cinnamon filling.
  • Now take the streusel mixture and sprinkle on top of the cake.
  • Bake at 350 F for 50-55 minutes.
