Equipment

  • Sauce Pan
  • Small Bowls
  • Knife or Food Processor
  • Large Bowl
  • Electric Hand or Stand Mixer
  • Spatula
  • Parchment Paper (optional)
  • Wooden Cutting Board

Ingredients

  • 12 oz Bottle Cream Soda
  • 1/4 Cup Butterscotch Chips
  • 2 Cups Powdered Sugar
  • 1 Teaspoon of Vanilla Extract
  • 8 Tablespoons room temperature Salted Butter
  • 3 Tablespoons Heavy whipping cream
  • Harry Potter Sprinkles
  • Sugar Cookies
  • Graham Crackers

Instructions

  • In a sauce pan, pour your cream soda, put it on medium heat and allow the soda to come to a boil.
  • Once it comes to boil, turn the heat to low and allow the soda to reduce until it is half. About 12 minutes.
  • Let it cool to room temperature, then place it in a bowl for storage.
  • Chop your butterscotch chips with a knife or food processor. Place them in a small bowl or parchment paper for later.
  • Next, place your butter in a large bowl and mix it with your electric mixer until it is light and fluffy. About 2-3 minutes.
  • Add in your powdered sugar, vanilla extract, reduced cream soda and heavy whipping cream.
  • Mix all the ingredients together using your electric mixer. Mix for 1-2 minutes or until its combined and smooth.
  • Next, fold in your half chopped butterscotch chips using your spatula.
  • Grab your cutting board, make sure it’s clean and dry.
  • Lay it on a flat clean place, then gather your frosting and snacks that are going on your board.
  • Using your spatula, take some of the frosting from the bowl and starting from the top of the board, spread the frosting. Make sure to leave a decent amount of space around the edges of the board. About a half inch or more. Leave extra space toward the handle. So it will be easy to transfer the board if needed.
  • Sprinkle your remaining butterscotch chips on all over your frosting.
  • Grab your Harry Potter theme sprinkles and generously sprinkle those all over the butter beer frosting.
  • Next, take your cookies, crackers or other snacks of your choice and place them on the open spaces of the board. Be sure to leave space on the edge so the snacks don’t fall off.
  • Place your board on a table and Enjoy!!

Notes

I used a knife to chop my butterscotch chips because I purposely wanted them to be different sizes for texture.
The butterscotch chips don’t have to be chopped, leaving them whole will have the same taste and cool frosting board look.
All the snack that surround the board are optional and can be switched out for something of your choosing.
To make for an easy clean up, you can put parchment paper on your board before adding your frosting.
The owl cookies were made using a standard cut out cookie recipe.
