Ingredients

  • 1/2 Cup Butterscotch Chips
  • 8 Tablespoons room temperature Salted Butter
  • 2 Cups Powdered Sugar
  • 2 Teaspoons Cream Soda
  • 1 Teaspoon Cookie Nip flavoring OR 1/2 Teaspoon Caramel and 1/2 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 3 Tablespoons Heavy Whipping Cream
  • Green Food Color
  • Burgundy Food Color
  • Yellow Food Color
  • Navy Blue Food Color
  • Harry Potter Sprinkles optional
  • Sugar Cookies
  • Pretzels
  • Crackers

Instructions

  • Start by grinding your butterscotch chips. You can do this with a food processor or chop them really small with a knife. Place them in a bowl for later.
  • Next, gather your butter, powdered sugar, cream soda, cookie nip flavoring, heavy whipping and ground butterscotch chips.
  • Get a large bowl and starting with your butter, place it in the bowl. Using an electric mixer, mix the butter until it is light and fluffy. This takes about 3 minutes.
  • Next, add your powdered sugar, cream soda, cookie nip, and heavy whipping cream. Mix the ingredients with your electric mixer until everything is combined and smooth. About 2-3 minutes.
  • Lastly, fold in about half of the ground butterscotch.
  • Once the frosting is complete, separate the frosting equally into 4 small bowls.
  • Get your green, navy blue, burgundy, & yellow food gel color and line each color up next to one of the small bowls.
  • Put 2 drops of food gel color in each bowl. Mix the frosting using your spatula and gel color in each bowl one at a time. You can add more color if needed, but don’t add too much because it can change the taste.
  • Make sure your cutting board is clean and dry.
  • Starting with your green frosting, use your spatula and place the frosting on the top portion of the board. Be sure to leave a good amount of space on the edges about a half inch to add snacks later.
  • Using your spatula, spread the green icing in a zig zag pattern to create a cool texture effect.
  • Repeat this step with each color until all 4 house colors are on the board.
  • Now to decorate your board add the remaining ground butterscotch chips according to your taste level.
  • Sprinkle your Harry Potter blend sprinkles over each color of frosting on the board.
  • Place your pretzels and crackers on opposite corners of the board. Put the cookies along the side.
  • Move your Harry Potter House Color Frosting Board to a flat surface or table to serve.
  • Enjoy Sorting your houses with snacks.

Notes

Sprinkle butterscotch according to your taste buds. The more butterscotch the better for some people’s taste.
All the snack that surround the board are optional and can be switched out for something of your choosing.
A fun way to enjoy this board is to let everyone choose a snack and then scoop frosting according to their Hogwarts house.
To make for an easy clean up, you can put parchment paper on your board before adding your frosting.
The witch hat cookies were made using a standard cut out cookie recipe

This recipe is for one board that can be 12-16 servings depending on the size you scrape off with your board using your surrounding snacks.
