Since this delicious latte has coconut extract and coconut flakes in it, I wanted to tell you the recommended amount of coconut to eat per day.

It’s suggested that the average person consumes up to 2 tablespoons of coconut per day.

The best way to get to this suggested consumption for added health benefits is slowly.

Start with 1 teaspoon per day and slowly increase each day until you’re at the 2 tablespoons of coconut per day.

Is it healthy to eat coconut?

This brings me to my next subject as to why I’m sharing a coconut and honey latte with you, coconut is healthy to eat!

Coconut is rich in fiber and has been touted to help with weight loss, improved heart health, and aid in digestion.

The edible part of your coconut is the flesh which can be enjoyed fresh or dried by human beings.

Ingredients For Toasted Coconut Honey Latte

  • Strong coffee
  • Half n half
  • Honey
  • Coconut extract
  • Sugar – or substitute if desired
  • Whipped cream – to top
  • Toasted coconut – to top

Instructions For Toasted Coconut Honey Latte

  1. Place the coffee in a heavy saucepan, and over low heat, add the half n half, honey, coconut extract, and sugar.
  2. Stir all ingredients together, and heat through.
  3. Pour the Latte into coffee mugs and top with whipped cream and toasted coconut. 
  4. Serve, and Enjoy!

NOTE:  You can buy toasted coconut on the baking aisle, or toast your own by placing shredded coconut on a parchment-lined cookie sheet and placing it in the oven at 350 for about 10 minutes, or until it’s golden brown. 

Let it cool before placing it on the whipped cream or it will melt.
